Thank god for my high powered reality distortion field or I could have almost thought it was about me.
A 52-year-old rail worker reprimanded two years ago for visiting pornographic websites at work has escaped with just a second warning despite repeatedly causing trains to be delayed in eastern Sweden.
I’m glad this country hasn’t figured out what personal responsibility is yet. So how many warnings should you get before you are fired? It was nice of them to send him to a behavioral therapist after the first incident and all, but I have no idea why they event want to keep him employed at this point. I’m sure he gets to stay in the same position too, which I suppose is awfully nice of them. That porn isn’t going to surf itself, after all.
The decision at the time to issue a formal warning was not however unanimous, with two trade union representatives present at the meeting of the disciplinary board arguing that a warning was too harsh a measure. Instead, they felt that a more appropriate course of action would have been to serve the 52-year-old with a written reminder of his duties as a rail administration employee.
I thought the union was supposed to speak for workers. You know for the people that.. work or at least aren’t repeatedly caught causing havoc. If they are just going to protect anyone then who is going to take them seriously when they speak up for workers that deserve it.
This is a weird country.
